About Marx Pay App

There is more to about money than knowing how to earn it. There’s more to your life than paying bills. Marx is the first and only app in Sri Lanka to give you total control over your earning, saving, maximizing and spending money. Do you wonder where your money goes? The Marx tracking page will tell you exactly where. In addition, the detailed payment history, recurrent payment listings and ability to maintain your savings, spend and investment accounts with any bank will give you the support you need to plan your money and become better at it every day. Marx is licensed by Central Bank of Sri Lanka as a Payment Service Provider (PSP).

Yes! We use industry-leading security technology, conforming to PCI-DSS information security standards. We have met the regulatory security compliances requirements and have been audited by Tech CERT. Generally, mobile payments are even safer than paying physically with cash or cards. Instead of your actual bank or card details, the merchant receives an encrypted version of your financial details where you are protected with our security for every transaction. However, any person who has access to your mobile device and PIN can access your account.

This PIN is a 4-digit number that is required to perform any transaction which ensures your transaction security.

Only for Utility bills and government institutional payments a service fees is applied and for the rest of the services its totally free expect for some merchants where there will be a convenience fee for credit/debit card payments. This charge is shown separately.

Account Settings

In the Marx PIN screen select the link with Forgot Marx PIN.

Select “Reset Marx PIN”

A security OTP code will be sent to the registered mobile number.

Enter the code and then click confirm button.

You can now set a new 4-digit PIN number and press the confirm button.

In the Marx app home screen select the link with Forgot password.

Enter your registered mobile number in the next screen

A security OTP code will be sent to the registered mobile number.

Enter the code and then click verify button.

You will be asked to enter a new Password.

Once done you will get a prompt that your new password was changed successfully.

Click OK proceed.

Enter your mobile number and new password in the next screen.

Click the menu button ( which is on top left corner)

Click the profile image / icon (which is on the top of the menu)

Click “First Name and or Last Name which you need to edit.

Enter the new Name and click “Save"

– “Your Name has been updated successfully" message would appear.

Click “Password" and you will be prompted to a new password screen.

Enter Current Marx Password > enter new Password > confirm new Password > “Your Marx Password has been updated successfully.

Click “Edit" link in-front of the “Email ID"

Enter the new email and click “Save"

“Your email ID has been updated successfully" message would appear.

You need to give permission from your phone to open the camera and scan the QR from the Marx app

Marx user credentials are solely the responsibility of the account user (mobile app / web). Financial risks that occur by sharing the user login details will be solely be under the said user

You will get a SMS /e-mail for every successful activity relating to registering of a card, personal bank account (savings/Current) or any profile change that takes place.

With our tight controls on security, we will leave no space for fraudulent transactions. When you add a card, Marx will charge a random transaction amount less than LKR10 from your credit/debit card or bank account. You will need to verify this amount in order to identify the ownership of the bank account and or credit/debit card. After verification we will credit back the deducted amount.

Your transaction history will be shown on your Marx mobile app Track icon.

Payment Issues

Any local bank current and savings accounts facilitated by Justpay Any bank VISA/MASTER/AMERICAN EXPRESS/ DISCOVER and DINERS CLUB.

Yes, you can schedule all your monthly bill payments and pay in bulk or individually once you are been prompted

You can split payments with your bank account and rewards points or credit/debit card with rewards points on the payment method screen.

The coupon code is expired and invalid for the transaction amount/merchant/date and time.

When you are making a payment for the InApp billers or a merchant payment you will be prompted to the “Payment method” screen. Here you can select the main options from Bank accounts, Credit, Debit cards and Marx Points.

If you are going to pay using a bank account select the preferred bank account by identifying it by its nickname.

If you are going to pay using your Credit or Debit cards select the preferred card by identifying it by its nickname.

If you are going to pay with Marx points make sure you have sufficient points to make the full payment provided it’s a rewards merchant.

You can also combine a payment with Marx points and Bank account/Card.

You need to contact the merchant to get the refund.

Inform the merchant to check his transactions confirmations from Marx merchant app. If the particular transaction does not appear there, please contact Marx support on 0115 400500

Please show the transaction confirmation notice received on SMS or from the transaction history and inform the merchant to check his transactions in the merchant app/POS. If the particular transaction does not appear there please contact Marx support on 0115400500

A refund/reversal can be initiated only if the product or service is not what you paid for based on the merchant sales terms. You will also be required to initiate a dispute via the issuing bank of the particular payment bank account/card which was paid for the transaction.

Maximum transaction amount

For personal bank and current accounts – LKR 25,000 per transaction

For credit and debit cards please check with your issuing bank.
